Good-to-great food. Friendly service. Homey atmosphere. I'd give it 5 stars, but I'm saving those kinds of ratings for my lovely wife. I highly recommend you go to Bob's - but don't sell yourself short... try the breakfasts!

Bad service. We went today, Saturday, around 10:30 a.m. We sat down right away. Our waitress had black hair, never said her name. Not friendly and got several things wrong. I ordered a ham n cheese omelet with grits n whole wheat toast. She never brought the toast. My mom ordered a blueberry muffin which didn't come out, we had to remind the waitress about it. The English muffin we ordered was burnt. My sister ordered scrambled egg whites with ham. Well she brought out regular eggs. When we told her they were supposed to be egg whites, the waitress took them back, didn't apologize for the mistake and then took about 20 min to bring out the correct order. Again, she didn't apologize. She never refilled our coffee mugs. We had to ask her for more coffee. And finally, since she took so long to bring our check, my sister went up to the counter to ask for it. Well, she didn't say a word as she flung the check at her. Very rude. No manners and never apologized for the mistakes. We will never come back. $0 tip. Next time, we'll go across the street to Liberty Café.

I wish I could give this place 5 negative stars. The worst service and with attitude. We went for breakfast Saturday around 10:30 am. Our waitress, a dark haired lady, made a mistake with my order and it took 20 minutes to get the correct one. Well almost correct - she brought the wrong toast. Of course by then everyone in my table was done with their meals. We had to ask for coffee refills, remind her of our missing muffin and to top things off I had to get up to get our ck, which she just slid down the counter without looking up at me or apologizing for the awful service. I will never go back to this place.

My wife and I had been coming every now and then to Burger Bob's since we got married eight years ago. We moved to the Gables about a year ago, and now we go to BB much more often. One of the very last bastions of great, plain, good old fashioned American food. We enjoy going on Sunday mornings for breakfast and reading the paper. Staff is great, especially Rosie and Julie, and Bob is a great guy, still going strong. Not convinced yet about their chili (it does has beans, which I particularly think it's a no-go), but who am I to judge? Great food overall, you have got to try it!!!

Good, local greasy spoon! Best breakfast prices in Coral Gables.

Breakfast is fantastic, burgers are just ok. But the setting is incredible, the place is right on the Granada Golf Course so its a stunning setting and the staff is friendly and accommodating.

Good Local Dive right on the 1st hole of Granda's golf course. Its been here a while and I really do not want it to get popular to keep it from changing. Great place for breakfast and lunch but bring cash, no cc.

It is what it is - Great burgers on fresh buns, extra-crispy fries (ask for them that way), great slaw, great breakfast... I would love to see them serve real maple syrup with their pancakes, better coffee (cafe con leche even), kicked-up quality on sugar and condiments, but ... As I said it is what it is. A golf course diner that serves basic food, cheap and in a great setting... Never too crowded. Bring CASH - Enjoy!

This is a tough place to rate, so let's start with an anecdote: I clearly remember my FIL returning from golf, grabbing my hand in earnest with a twinkle in his eye. "I found this little nothing place - Burger Bobs. You have to try this burger. Best burger I've had in a long time." Now, my FIL is not exactly the passionate type and since his retirement has been on a bit of a burger kick. I had to take him seriously. The restaurant has a gem like quality to it, away from the commercial areas of the Gables on the public golf course that I, a non-golfer, would never have encountered on my own. Another reviewer is right in that it's just a golf course lunch counter, the decor is unremarkable and probably hasn't been updated in 30 years. A proper rating based on decor alone would be 1 STAR~2 STARS if you factor in the the views of the golf course. Service and food presentation (think: plastic baskets and utensils) are also unremarkable, beyond simple they rate 2 STARS on a good day. But then you get your burger. An actual hamburger cooked to order, I didn't have to fight anyone for a medium-rare patty. Served on a quality bun with iceberg lettuce and a thick tomato and onion slice, no frills (not that I expected any at this point). I agree it is the perfect size, neither too big nor too small. You take your first bite and find yourself in 5 STAR burger paradise. It's exactly what you imagine a burger should look and taste like, simple and savory. It's that burger dream that too often is disappointed in reality. The fries were quite good too, but it's the burger you remember. It's the burger that compels me to grab a friend's hand and relay the tale of the fantastic burger I've discovered, in the little nothing place in Coral Gables. If you are doing your math, you probably note that my overall rating should be closer to 3 STARS. I have upped to 4 STARS for good reason: in spite of all of its perceived "faults", there isn't any indication that Burger Bobs wants to be anything more than it presents itself as, not a shred of pretense or ambition in the joint. Whatever money it's making (and at the uncommonly low price of the meal, I have to wonder) it's going towards quality hamburger meat, and not towards marketing or cosmetics. Even one license plate on the wall or framed poster of James Dean would knock my opinion down to 3 STARS. I hope you enjoy this little treasure for what it is as much as I do.

Great burgers and hot dogs. Their daily specials are good too, but mostly go for the burgers and fries. Service is generally quite good. Great location and good food for cheap! Bob is really there and makes sure everything is served right. Wish they would take credit cards.

This is definitely a hidden and secret little gem right in the middle of Coral Gables. It's like stepping back in time 50 years. The burgers are great, hot dogs fantastic, and the owner, Bob, is truly the best. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

My husband had heard great things about Burger Bobs so we decided to go one morning for breakfast/lunch. The food was pretty good the only thing I didn't like was though our sandwiches didn't come with fries lol I know its not that big of a deal btu I thought for the price they should've been included. I saw they had homemade chill which i plan on trying in the winter one of those "cold" Miami mornings.

This is kind of little hidden place in the gables. It is right on the golf course on grenada. I am here quit often with my parents as they live right around the corner. The burgers are a perfect size, enough to fill you up but you won't have to undue your button on your pants. It is cheap too, I think its like $4 for a cheeseburger. You can't beat it. They say they have the best chili in town. I tried it once and it was good, but not the best I have ever had by any means. Maybe they are the only place in town to have chili and this is why they say they have the best. I bring my dog with me and he stays outside but if Bob is working he always brings him food and a bowl of water which is really cool. If you have not been go check it out. Don't expect a great atmosphere, just expect a good, all american burger for a great price.

It's a diner. Cash only. Love it. Make sure to ask about the daily specials. Looking forward to having breakfast here.

I was going to give this place two stars and I'm sure there are probably a lot of regulars that would firmly disagree. However, I upped it to three stars after considering the joint for what it is -- a golf course lunch counter. It's a cute little place that could use a little updating (and a credit card machine). However, I know for a fact this place is hamstrung by the reality of the property being owned by the city of Coral Gables and the restaurant considered more of a vendor rather than a traditional leaseholder. In fact, Burger Bob's lease has run out and is now on a month-to-month due to the fact that the facility is considered part of the Coral Gables Country Club which is searching for a new operator. The City stupidly made the decision to include the lease of the Burger Bob's space as part of the bid. This makes no sense as Burger Bob's is across the street from the country club facility and no lunch counter has any business being part of a country club. It's typical government stupidity at work here that's threatening the livelihoods of every person who works there, including the namesake, Bob. All that aside...I enjoyed my lunch and I enjoyed just as much the fact it only cost $18 for two people. I had a cheese burger and root beer; my other-half, Steven had the club sandwich and a diet coke, and we shared a side order of fries. My burger was prepared exactly as ordered and delivered very quickly, as was the club sandwich. Service was very good and fast, save for the waitress forgetting to bring ketchup on her own. If I order a burger or fries, I expect to have ketchup brought of offered automatically. And that is a very minor complaint, if a complaint at all. Burger Bob's could use a few tables outside. This IS Sunny Florida after all. Again, the lack of credit card acceptance is a negative. But maybe all those duffers carry around tons of case making the CC fees not worth the expense. If you live or work in the Gables area, give this place a shot. It's fast and cheap and has a great view of the golf greens.
